Exhuding some stylish glamour, we stumbled upon this hidden gem situated in Souk Madinat , the italian restaurant Segreto settled amongst the pathways of the resort. Upon entry, dim lighting and comfortable and warm rustic interiors greeted us,making for quite a romantic set up.
The dry aged kettle lamb shank was a weave of tenderness with the meat being so moist, that the meat can easily fall from the bone, each bite being a taste of heaven on your palate, the reason being the lamb is slow cooked deliriously for over a period of 12 hours which explains how well the flavors have been infused in the meat.
The savory baked halibut was another favorite of mine as the fish comes encased in aluminum foil, brimming with aromatic herbs amplifying the taste of this fish with the skin being nice and crisp and a delicious accompaniment of sardinian fergola making it a wholesome meal all in all.
Time to satiate my sweet cravings by ordering the vanilla pannacotta , easily one of my cult favourites, which was a scrumptious treat. presented beautifully in a white and dark chocolate sphere making it an aesthetic pleaser. The show does not end here, pour down a warm meld of bergamot and passionfruit sauce, only to unveil added and heavenly goodness.
I have had many a fruit salads and usually the presentation is the same so fruit salad presented in a gorgeous Macedonia jar was a pleasant surprise and definitely an artistic presentation. Open sesame and my eyes meet freshly cut fruits marinated in a concoction of sweet and tangy coulis and creamy white yoghurt foam.
With a vast menu and a restaurant that boasts a romantic ambience, Segreto makes a favorable impression and is the perfect spot to bring your loved ones to celebrate special occasions or a milestone in your life while devouring on some exceptional italian rustic dishes to please your palate.
