Mint leaf of London – a restaurant specializing in culinary and unparalleled dishes with a modern twist rests on the 15th floor of the business hub,Emirates Financial towers. With wooden interiors boasting elegance and sophistication, this restaurant has a panoramic view of the Burj Khalifa as well as the hustle and bustle of Sheikh Zayed Road – now thats what i call hitting two birds with a stone.
The restaurant space is smartly divided into two areas – one being a formal restaurant area and the other a bar and lounge area for an informal affair.
I love a nice warm brunch especially on a lazy Friday afternoon – its just a perfect way to start the weekend with pleasant conversations over a nice and relaxing meal as it encompasses so many different courses which can be enjoyed at your own pace of time.
My absolute favorites:
The red sangria – a delicious amalgamation of fiery red sangria with cut fruits perfect to quench your thirst with as it satiates your taste buds with a meld of sourness and sweetness leaving you craving for more.
The spicy chana chaat – tangy with a sweet twist – one of my favorite snacks which i could munch on any part of the day made with boiled potatoes cubed and chickpeas assembled together in a fiery chaat sauce topped with my favorite snack to munch on – sev 🙂
The non vegetarian kebab platter containing succulent pieces of creamy malai chicken tikka, tandoori chicken anarkali and lamb seekh kebab. It is really hard to pick a favorite from these three toppers as they all were so deliciously soft and coated with a perfect meld of spices with the right amount of pungency giving your taste buds just a perfect punch leaving me in tow as to what is the next course to follow.I love kebabs in any form as they are so visually appealing and highly versatile.
The well marinated salmon kebab- something quite unique was another one of my favorites, bundled with flavor and freshness and a slightly charred exterior making it nice and moist and presentably soft to the palate.
Next up was a heavenly sight for sore eyes – a miscellany of curries and breads for curry lovers. My favorites was the pungent chicken hara pyaaz – a chicken dish with onion relish and dominant flavors of coriander and mustards seeds giving it a slightly aromatic flavor and and the lamb khatta – meat cooked in a sultry tomato sauce with an intense flavor and cooked in fiery spices.
No meal is complete without a little bit of sweetness and after a few minutes of relaxation and good natured banter,we delved into our desserts which was a creative beauty of its own beautiful presented on a wooden plate.
My favorite hands down was the rasmalai, a sweet dish consisting of flat and fluffy cakes of paneer (cottage cheese) dunked in a bed of sweetened and thickened milk garnished and smothered with pistachios and almonds invigorating your senses on a high note.
Mint leaf of London aside from its cleverly crafted and lip smacking dishes has a nice sophisticated summer vibe to it with its chic and relaxed surroundings perfect to visit with family or even on a romantic night out.
