Craving for some Portuguese grilled chicken? Then head over to Veri Peri who can cook up a storm meaning their flame grilled meat in no time. Veri Peri put their pride in their carefully hand picked sauces ranging from mild to very hot, leaving your taste buds to take the test.

We ordered the chicken picatta from the starters, suggested by the staff and boy were we not disappointed. Thin beaten slices of chicken breast met our eyes, cooked in olive oil and coated with a delicious mixture of beaten egg, mozzarella and parsley – the result – crispy and tender chicken making you yearn for another plate.

The chicken and meat espetadas are a must try with which we chose a side dish of mozzarella tenders.although i liked the former as the pieces of chicken were moist and tender , packed with flavor literally to the bone, we went with the hot sauce to go with it which was a choice we were pleased with.If you are a complete vegetarian, don’t worry about being left out you can also enjoy a vegetarian espetada containing chunks of paneer but maybe we will leave that for next time.

The steak deserves a notable place as we went with the sizzled tenderloin steak, the flavor of the smooth pepper sauce perfectly pairs up with the medium inch steak ,sizzler style leaving you to enjoy the very last bite, the steak is accompanied with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables.

Another authentic portugese dish we did try was the cataplana which acts as a meal on its own as grilled chicken pieces are met with numerous vegetables like roasted baby marrow, broccoli,baby corn ,carrot and bell peppers all cooked together in a tomato based secret sauce stew form served with rice. I loved every bit of the sauce and wished i had gone slow on the grilled chicken in order to have an enjoyable moment with this dish.

Coming to my favorite part was the chocolate molten lava cake with ice cream. Lets just say, my hubby got to literally only taste the remains. A portion good enough for one, the cake was what i expected to be , moist and fluffy from out and liquid goodness from the interior enjoyed with a dose of ice cream – the perfect way to end my meal on a happy note.
