Unlimited menu at Shanghai Chic

The #ChineseNewYear shines upon us as we partook in an enthralling dinner experience at one of my fav Chinese restaurants in town. Shanghai Chic in @movenpickibg is having a unlimited tasting menu wherein you get to try out beautifully presented yet delicious dishes right at your table. Did I mention that there are over 30 delicious dishes to feast upon not just with your eyes but your palate as well, that come served in small portions? An Amazing concept not to be missed .What made the dishes stand out apart from their taste was the cute little notes , handwritten in Chinese, with various quotes that represent beautiful sayings of Chinese New Year, etched into some of the dishes. Ni hao! 🇨🇳

The dimsum delicacies such as sesame prawn toasts which were crunchy to the very last bite, beautifully laid on a bed of brown rice. Making a grand entrance were the wasabi prawns, a true burst of flavours with a tinge of sourness and a refreshing bite of watermelon leaving us quite surprised with the flavour embedded.

The mains involved a whirlwind of dishes ranging from various meats. We feasted on sautéed pork belly, uber soft to the bite, cooked in a traditional Asian style with bell peppers being the predominant ingredient and lamb satay straight from the wok, whose aroma is sure to flare up your nostrils with the pleasant peanut sauce lending its sweetness to the richness of the lamb.

We all need a little of sweetness in our lives and that’s easily taken care of with the desserts on offer – one of our favourites being the peanut parfait with vanilla tapioca and raspberry sorbet. If I had to choose between tangy and sweet , people who know me well would know I always go for the former. The raspberry sorbet did that effortlessly for me with the light crunchiness of the peanut bits leaving a refreshing taste in my mouth.
