My favorite go to ice cream? Vanilla with a hint of hot chocolate fudge so i was squealing with excitement when i heard that the soul restaurant at Movenpick restaurant, Jumeirah beach road, had a vanilla inspired menu which i knew i had to give a go at to tantalize my taste buds. Known as the Vanilla Salee, the menu had a little bit of savoriness and sweetness for a much enjoyable experience.
For the entrees, we indulged into finely cut tuna and salmon sashimi and grilled soft scallops accompanied with wakame , a drizzle of citrus vanilla vinaigrette and wasabi soya sauce giving this dish the right amount of magic it needs with a right amount of sweetness lent and a zesty flavor.
The goats cheese and fig salad definitely had a vibrant character of its own in terms of the taste as well as the exotic presentation. The dish is enriched with cubes of St Maure goat’s cheese, figs, nuts and orange vanilla dressing which acted as a perfect component for the cheese, figs and nuts.
The Nile perch definitely had to be a favorite as the fish was nicely grilled along with vanilla, white chicory, being quite a unique item,a healthy choice of black salsify mash and red grape essence. What i liked about this dish is how the chicory imparts flavor to the fish, making it nice and moist.
My favorite part was the chocolate fondant which can be easily shared by two as the quantity is huge but nevertheless, one of my favorite dishes, as the creamy vanilla and chocolate fondant make for a match made in heaven. The chocolate is not too strong and infuses a subtle flavor to the ice-cream.
