VASCO’S RESTAURANT BRINGS BACK ITS CLASSIC DISHES TO THE MENU

Guests dining at Hilton Abu Dhabi can now try a selection of  signature dishes served at Vasco’s over the years and making it the popular restaurant that it is today.

ABU DHABI – October 18, 2017: Vasco’s is a restaurant that enjoys a rich history of hosting a loyal clientele of Abu Dhabi residents and tourists since its inception.

As a celebration of its success, the award-winning beachside venue at Hilton Abu Dhabi will now feature its classic dishes in the a la carte menu in response to customers’ requests.

Manikandan Mahalingam, Head Chef at Vasco’s, said: “We believe that the best way to enhance the dining experience of our loyal guests is to give them the chance to recollect the memories that they built at Vasco’s when they visited us in the past.

We realised that there is a huge demand for our classics. That is why the most popular signature dishes served over the years have been reintroduced to our new menu.”

Inspired by the travel escapades of the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama, the menu at Vasco’s celebrates cuisines from around the world.

A hugely popular dish to make a comeback to the menu is the Vasco’s seafood salad, which features a lobster medallion, poached shrimps, smoked salmon and baby octopus. Veterans of the restaurant will also be happy to see the crispy cheddar stuffed veal ham croquettes in the selection of starters.

The primavera rinforzata pizza topped with onions, green beans, olives, artichoke, mushrooms and mozzarella, was a huge hit when it was first introduced to the Vasco’s menu, and can now be found in the ‘From the Oven’ section of the menu.

“We have changed a few things back to the way our guests remember them. The wild mushroom risotto is now available in the ravioli version that Vasco’s loyalists cherish, served with sautéed zucchini and parmesan truffle cream sauce,” Manikandan added.

“The African harissa and apricot braised lamb shank is another Vasco’s favourite that will be served regularly alongside  the butternut squash-bread dumpling that our guests hold dear.”

For those who visit Vasco’s for its Indian dishes, there are a selection of dishes including, badami chicken kebab and tandoori lamb chops. Delicacies from the coastlines of Goa include the much-loved shrimps curry and the coconut rice pudding.

Another highlight is the adored dessert – the Vasco Golden Globe. Guests are invited to treat themselves to the fruity pistachio ganache and hazelnut financier served with cheese kunafa. The dish is flambéed live at the table with either brandy or chocolate sauce, depending on preference.

Vasco’s is a nautical-themed beachside restaurant, which is open daily for lunch from noon until 3.30pm and for dinner from 7pm until 11pm. Prices on the menu range from AED 30* to AED 260*.
